Oban 1996

Geoffrey and I visited Oban in May, 1996 as part of a wonderful fortnight travelling around Scotland. We stayed at this caravan site on a farm a mile and a half from the town. It was lovely and peaceful as there were no bars or noisy 'nightlife' on site.

A postcard which I bought at the time

We had such beautiful warm, sunny weather!

We met a couple on holiday from Australia who took our photo for us!
The "Bridge Over the Atlantic" as it is called, connecting Seil Island with the mainland. This about 15 miles south of Oban.

Geoffrey enjoying a coffee in the sunshine! Easdale lies about 200 metres off Seil Island and is reached by a small ferry. There is a great website about Oban here

Thank you very much Gerry! I appreciate it. Interesting that you've been to that caravan site too - pity about the rain though.
