The famous statue of a ram in the High Street which was sculpted by William Brodie - but without ears -
an omission that led to the folklore that Brodie committed suicide!

have never been to Moffat - looks a nice place
Hello Jane, I came across your blog whilst searching for a Moffat Ram image- I am building a website for a B&B in Moffat and I would like to use an image of the Moffat Ram on the website. I really like the way you have captured the detail of the ram and I would like to ask whether you would be prepared to give me permission to use your image for this purpose. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Shona

Hello Shona - I'm just about to send you an email to your address given - let me know if you don't receive it!
Thanks for your comment Donnie - nice to hear from you too!
Hi again Jane....you are still working hard at keeping up the good work on your fantastic blog. Mary and I have just been to a few places on our holiday fortnight, and Moffat one of them..very enjoyable too. Luckily we've had mostly good weather and had a great 'round walk' on the Southern Upland Way....All your great town snaps are all the places 'to visit'...I got a great Harris tweed jacket for £60...a bargain! I used to race the 'Moffat Chase' and it was always a long distance Scottish classic hill race. I also once did Moffat to Peebles over the tops (32 miles) on a glorious early winter day I recall; got to Peebles in the gloaming, time for fish and chips! Along the way we crossed the ridge above Loch Skeen which feeds the Grey Mare's Tail....what a lovely walk that is on a good day, right up the glen past the cascades to the peaceful loch at the top...
Kindest regards, Denis..
